  Celia and John Lee are authors and historians who have written military history books and articles on, among others, the life of Jean, Lady Hamilton, Winston and Jack Churchill, General Sir Ian Hamilton, Hindenburg and Ludendorff.


Celia Lee

Author of the biography 'Jean, Lady Hamilton (1861 - 1941)' (private publication, 2001), Celia Lee was invited by Peregrine Churchill and his wife Yvonne to write a family history of the Churchills, giving Peregrine's father, John Strange Spencer Churchill (Jack) his rightful place in the family story. She is currently working jointly with John on a book about His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent KG, titled 'A Life of Service'.

John Lee

Author of 'A Soldier’s Life', the life and times of General Sir Ian Hamilton, John was commissioned to do a study of Hindenburg and Ludendorff, published as 'The Warlords' by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in 2005 in their ‘Great Commanders’ series. He collaborated with Celia Lee to write and publish 'Winston and Jack: The Churchill brothers' in 2007. John is regularly asked to contribute chapters to collections of essays on the First World War.
